the haunted city is a collective of storytellers and theater artists who believe we have a responsibility to serve the people of new orleans. and while we are devoutly committed to achieving excellence in our work, the process is just as important as the product: kindness, generosity, and empowerment are core tenants of our operations onstage and off.

to serve the community of new orleans by providing professional theater free of charge. our goal is to develop the theater-going audience in this city by asking nothing of them but their time and delivering memorable, enjoyable experiences all year long.

our performances are free of charge. we know theater can inspire, unite, and uplift. that knowledge, combined with our love for both this art and our community, prevents us from turning anyone away for lack of funds. the best things in life are free and nobody should be left out.

new orleans is famously haunted and that’s just part of the charm. all year-round we will explore everything spooky: horror, ghost stories, psychological thrillers, comedies, and everything in between. everybody likes a scary story, so what are you afraid of?

it’s the greatest city in the world. nowhere else will you find this unique vibrancy of life or humanity. we are lucky to be here and we want to pay it forward. new orleans should be the center of storytelling and be it though brand new plays or reinvigorated classics, we intend to play our part in making that vision come to life.
